When you visit Puglia, you come across in large buildings in white stone with an antique flavor, are the farms, from the Latin mass or agricultural town fortified.

The farms are housing districts that date back to the fifteenth century. They were built to defend the territory and could accommodate up to 100 people.

Among these, the old Masseria Montedoro, while maintaining the original structure, preserves the flavors, smells and colors of the tradition.

The Masseria Montedoro is located on S.S. 581 Ceglie Messapica - Martina Franca.

The rural architecture consists of two modules that are flanked by classic:

- on the one hand, the body fortress built in 1807;

- on the other hand, the trulli built in 1700. They were originally used as living quarters, were then used as a sheepfold.

The ground floor of the farmhouse, once used as the farmer's house and stables, preserves the stylistic elements characteristic:

- large rooms with vaulted ceilings;

- stone floors;

- majestic fireplace;

- antique furniture.

The upper floor, once used to house owners and stores, today is for the reception.

The farm covers an area of 76 hectares, of which:

- about 40 hectares of forest;

- 20 hectares of arable land;

- 3 hectares of ancient olive grove;

- 0.6 hectares of organic garden;

- various areas of maquis and garrigue.

In the farm are bred, wild, murgesi horses and Martina Franca donkeys.
